Charity: Charlies Promise

Charlie’s Promise is a charity dedicated to preventing knife crime and protecting young people from the devastating consequences of violence. Founded by Martin Cosser following the murder of his 17-year-old son, Charlie, we turn unimaginable loss into action. Through powerful lived-experience talks, education, campaigning and early intervention, we work with young people, schools, colleges, communities, professionals and organisations across the UK to challenge attitudes towards violence and help young people make safer choices. Our approach is rooted in honesty, compassion and prevention. We believe that education, meaningful conversations and early support can save lives. Having now spoken to more than 150,000 young people Charlie’s Promise is determined to make sure Charlie’s story is not simply remembered but used to create lasting change. Our promise is simple: to do everything we can to prevent another family from experiencing the devastating loss of a child to knife crime.
