Since Together was formed in 1879, we have believed that people with mental health issues have the right and the abilities to lead independent, fulfilling lives as part of their communities. The people who use our services are at the heart of everything we do. They influence and shape the support they receive from us, and the way our services are run. These core beliefs underpin the vision, mission and values we aspire to. We understand that everyone who seeks our support is different and their needs are individual to them. We believe in enabling people to lead their own recovery at their own pace by supporting their decisions about the care they receive. We offer a wide variety of support to help people deal with the personal and practical impacts of mental health issues. The services we can provide range from one-to-one support in the community to supported accommodation and making sure people understand and are able to express their needs in their dealings with official bodies. We now work with nearly 5000 adults every month at 80 projects throughout England. You can find your nearest service using our service finder.
Together We Learn has been working to brighten the prospects of children in Ethiopia for more than 20 years. Children are at the centre of our work. We exist to help disadvantaged young people gain equal access to quality education because we believe in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty by enabling children to learn, grow and access opportunities. Our interventions are aimed at improving the quality of teaching and facilities within Ethiopian schools and working with communities to overcome obstacles to school attendance. Our approach to providing access to quality education is holistic, as our experience shows us that there are many areas of need that must be addressed, to enable children to make the most of education. We work closely with schools through our construction projects, teacher training and school links, to understand the problems they are facing and how we can most effectively help them. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities, through sponsorship, after-school clubs and income generating activities, to understand the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend or concentrate in school.
TOLFA (Tree of Life for Animals) is an Animal Hospital & Shelter in Rajasthan, India. Since 2005 we have helped over 170,000 animals in need. Our projects include Rescue & Care, Anti-Rabies & Sterilisation, Education and Rural Animal Health. Our animal hospital is a healing oasis in the desert that saves and transforms lives. As well as those animals that we rescue, heal and return to their own environment, TOLFA provide lifelong sanctuary to animals that could not survive on their own.
Tourettes Action is the UK’s only national charity dedicated to supporting individuals with Tourette syndrome and their families. Our staff, volunteers and supporters are engaged and energised in driving forward our mission. Everything we do is grounded in our community’s needs and informed by both the voices of our community and research-based evidence. We want a world where people with Tourette syndrome are: accepted, supported and embraced. This is a world which enables people with the condition to reach their full potential.
