Crisis works all year-round across the UK helping solitary homeless people fulfil their potential and transform their lives. We develop innovative services which enable them to overcome problems such as addictions and mental health issues. We help them rebuild social and practical skills, join the world of work and reintegrate into society.
There are thousands of disabled (of all ages), cared for by relatives, friends etc, so saving them from being kept in hospital or rest homes. We provide a service nationally to allow the carers some time of their own. To cover this area we have over 200 schemes.

Hospices
We operate a home for life (Casa Lumina) for 23 orphaned special needs young adults in Comanesti, Romania and we operate a multi-disciplinary community palliative care service for children and young adults (Hospice Casa Albert) in Luncani, Romania. Who Benefits: (a) The 23 young adults resident at Casa Lumina continue to be the primary beneficiaries of the work and financial support provided by CITD. However, the local community of Comanesti have also benefitted directly by the provision of local employment and through the education of children and the local community in aspects of social care, (b) Through our multi-disciplinary team at Hospice Casa Albert 85 children were in receipt of palliative care services and they and their families also received counselling, education and advocacy. A day care facility at the hospice also provided respite. Staff have also been supported in their continuing professional development, (c) Through a programme of planned visits to Romania from the UK, CITD continued to offer an opportunity for over 100 people to engage practically and spiritually with our two projects, to undertake building modifications, engage with the children and young people in social and therapeutic activities and to support local staff.
