The NADP provides information and support for deafened people, who have lost all or most of their useful hearing, to help enable them to regain their independence and enjoy the best quality of life. NADP is run by and for deafened people and the Executive Committee consists of deafened people, who can relate to the needs of their members. A main objective of NADP is to increase awareness of the specific needs and requirements of deafened people, to ensure they have full access to communication, information, employment and services.
NAPLIC is the National Association for Professionals concerned with Language Impaired Children. We are the UK's national network for teachers, Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals who work with children and young people with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and wider Speech, Language and Communication Needs. DLD is a common condition which limits the ability to understand and express ideas. Very few people have heard about it, but it has a significant impact on life and learning outcomes. NAPLIC supports the work of the raising awareness of DLD campaign. radld,org. NAPLIC hosts the UK's largest child language conference every year. Find out more about our work at naplic.org.uk.
Narcolepsy UK is a charity registered in England & Wales (No. 1144342) and in Scotland (No. SC043576). "Narcolepsy UK is a little charity with a big heart and even bigger plans." Our objectives are to provide relief and aid to those persons suffering from narcolepsy, and our principal activities to achieve these objectives are: The promotion and organisation of conferences and exhibitions relating to narcolepsy and its effects. The promotion of, and/or assistance in promoting and carrying out: research, surveys and investigations into narcolepsy and its effects. Creating the funding strategies that make this work possible. Arranging and providing exhibitions, meetings, lectures, classes and training courses. Collecting and distributing information via the Narcolepsy UK media portfolio comprising website, Facebook and Twitter, and social media generally. Our vision is to help provide a world where narcolepsy is understood and people with narcolepsy have the support they need to ensure that their rights are upheld and that they have the same opportunities as others in society. Narcolepsy UK currently has six Trustees and three part-time staff.
