Charities
Our charity provides schools across the country with food, toiletries and sanitary products so that children have consistent access to essential supplies through our School Pantry Cupboards. We also run breakfast clubs and provide emergency supplies over schools holidays and during exam times for children and families who may be struggling. We aim to relieve poverty and help alleviate suffering in the UK through food pantries, feeding programs, informative support and charitable services under the MCKS name.
The principal aim of ME Research UK is to commission and fund high-quality scientific (biomedical) investigation into the causes, consequences and treatment of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as ME/CFS). This is a debilitating illness which affects between 120,000 and 240,000 people in the UK, but is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised.
MSF is a leading non-governmental organisation for emergency medical aid. We provide independent medical relief to victims of war, disasters and epidemics in more than 80 countries around the world. MSF is a voluntary organisation. Each year, about 2,500 doctors, nurses, logistics specialists and engineers from around the world leave on field assignments where they work closely with thousands of national staff.
At Media Trust, we believe that when everyone has an equal voice, we’ll get to a more equal society. That’s why we connect media organisations with charities and under-represented talent to empower the Third Sector, and advance media representation. We do this through: - Innovative and impactful training that helps charities communicate more effectively to support their communities and drive social change - Training and mentoring programmes that break down barriers for under-represented talent - Meaningful partnerships with the media industry that enable charities to have a stronger voice and widen access to under-represented talent.
Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to detect the odour of human disease. It is at the forefront of the research into the fight against cancer and helping people with life-threatening diseases. Our Bio-Detection Dogs are trained to find the odour of diseases, such as cancer, in samples such as urine, breath and swabs. Our Medical Alert Assistance Dogs are trained to detect minute changes in an individual’s personal odour triggered by their disease* and alert them to an impending medical event. We receive no government funding for the work we do and rely entirely on the generosity of donations from trusts and the public.
