Protecting and enhancing the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland, we believe Leicestershire and Rutland should be rich in wildlife for the benefit of everyone - with more wildlife, more wild places and more people having a strong connection to nature. For over 65 years we have been saving wildlife and wild places, increasing people’s awareness and understanding of the natural world, and deepening people’s relationship with it.
One in five people in the UK will become disabled in their lifetime. For more than 75 years, we have worked directly with disabled people to give them the freedom to live their lives the way they choose, with the opportunity to fully take part in society. Today, our staff provide social care services that support disabled people across the UK to have greater levels of independence. Some of the people we support have very complex needs, requiring specialist nursing. In addition to offering high-quality care and support, we lead campaigns to influence government to implement legislation that positively benefits the lives of disabled people. As well as fighting for disabled people’s rights, we work with partners to deliver support and life-changing employment programmes.
We provide social care services support to around 2000 disabled people across the UK. In addition we lead campaigns to influence government to implement legislation that positively benefits the lives of disabled people. The Charity works with vulnerable children from the streets and shanty-towns of the city of Medellín, Colombia. It seeks to save them from the influence of the criminal gangs and from drug addiction and prostitution, and to offer them the chance of 'life in all its fulness'.
