Charities
National Energy Action (NEA) is a fuel poverty and energy efficiency charity, which was founded over 40 years ago when students at Durham University established a group of volunteers to install loft insulation in the homes of elderly local people. Since then we've brought real social change, enabling millions of people to access grants and assistance to help them live in a warm home. We work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to ensure everyone has a warm and safe home. We provide advice and support to people struggling to heat their homes affordably, either directly or via community engagement projects and outreach. We campaign and advocate to ensure that the needs of fuel poor households are at the heart of policy decisions. We undertake research and share insights and we develop accredited training and qualifications to improve standards of energy advice.
We help families in conflict, especially those divorcing or separating, to turn their arguments into agreements. National Family Mediation has 40 years’ experience providing expert, professional services. We work in over 500 locations across England & Wales. Family mediation is quicker, more cost-effective and less stressful than heading to court. It reduces conflict, and you stay in control of your arrangements over children, property and finance. If you would like guidance or advice on what to do next please call us on 0300 4000 636 or email us.
The National Federation of Women's Institutes plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a variety of activities and to campaign on important issues. The WI celebrates its centenary in 2015 and currently has over 210,000 members in and around 6,600 WI's.
