A membership charity run entirely by volunteers whose objects are to: a) To promote the conservation of wild land in Scotland b) To promote public awareness of the problems facing wild land in Scotland c) To promote and encourage the development of good planning policies d) To co-operate with other bodies to promote the foregoing objects. The Scottish Wild Land Group publishes the full colour periodical 'Wild Land News' and sends it out free to members. The remaining wild land in Scotland, that is land with little modern infrastructure, is coming under increasing threat owing to the plethora of new developments, whether masts, pylons, dams, windfarms, bulldozed tracks, fences or forestry plantations. The group campaigns to keep these areas wild by producing reports, commenting on planning applications and mobilising its membership to action.
