The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man. Their critical care teams include a pre-hospital doctor, specialist paramedic and an expert pilot, who take the A&E to the scene of the incident, whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. GNAAS responds to over 2,000 call-outs every year, via their helicopter and rapid response vehicles, where they perform treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death. The service is 100% reliant on charitable funding and would not be possible without public support.
