We believe that when lives are turned upside down by brain injury, everyone should have access to the help and support they deserve and need, to live well and to thrive. For almost 40 years Headway Surrey has been dedicated to supporting adults in Surrey navigate all areas of life after brain injury, as well as helping their family, friends and carers in understanding brain injury.
Headway Sussex offers reablement and support opportunities for people with an acquired brain injury, and their family carers. A brain injury can be the result of many different causes including stroke, accident, tumour, infection, sporting injury or assault. We offer a varied Living Well Programme for personal wellbeing including individual support to achieve independence, tailored reablement and therapy, client and carer groups, social and relaxation opportunities together with information and advice. We are expanding our services to reach more people in town communities right across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
At Health in Mind, we’ve been promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland since 1982. We do this by providing a wide range of services and courses to support people and enable them to make a positive difference in their lives. We strive for people in Scotland to live in a supportive and resilient community where mental health is understood and people lead fulfilling lives.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs mainly selected from rescue centres to alert severely and profoundly deaf people to everyday household sounds such as the doorbell, alarm clock and danger sounds like the smoke alarm and firebell.
For over 45 years, Heart Research UK has funded pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease. Many things that we now take for granted, such as heart valves, angioplasty would have not been developed without our help.
Heart UK - The Cholesterol Charity provides information on coronary heart disease and cholesterol, and its management by diet, lifestyle and medication. We are committed to the early detection of families with genetic lipid disorders and we provide a telephone helpline staffed by nurses and dietitians. This is available to anyone affected by high cholesterol.
