Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is the UK's most common life-threatening infection in newborn babies. Without preventative medicine, GBS infects 700 babies a year - 75 die and 40 survivors suffer long-term problems. Yet most GBS infections are preventable by offering higher-risk women antibiotics in labour. Informing pregnant women will save lives.
